The right to energy: Who is responsible for energy poverty?

Energy is a basic service and social good, necessary for health, education, social inclusion and a decent home. Energy is increasingly seen as a human right. What does this mean in practice? What rights to energy do people have? How do we account for different vulnerabilities? Who is responsible for addressing energy poverty? We will discuss legal developments on the concept of a right to energy across Europe and how this affects women’s rights in the Netherlands and beyond.
